The
Department of English organized various programmes during the academic year
2010-2011. On 27th July a workshop for the UG and PG students on
‘How to Develop Your English’. Principal Dr.Nitin Ghorpade, was the chairperson
of the workshop.
Vice-Principal
A.K Patil, was present and Ms.Madhura Kulkarni was the guest of honour.
Ms.Anita
Joshi, Houston, Texas guided the students on the subject. She
also conducted a practice session in which every student was given an
opportunity to develop his/ her communication skills. Along with her
Ms.Gavriella Fried,

scholar of English Literature from Hartford,
Connecticut also shared her views
with the students. 150 students attended the workshop.Ms.Joshi said that ‘in
today’s globalized world it is necessary to master English.English is not a
difficult language. If we take efforts we can overcome the obstacles of English
language.Mastering English means mastering the world. For the development of
overall personality the mastery of English is a must.’ Ms.Gavriella said ‘the
students should read more literature in English. As it enriches our vocabulary.
Reading
develops our personality. In order to master English language students should
read something in English everyday’.
